Library |
Bethlehem public library was established in 1996 through the generous funding of selected private sector donors, with the goal of giving Palestinians a chance to better themselves through reading, literacy, research, and educational resources.
It is a public library with over 25,000 volumes in various fields of science, geography, religion, history, and humanities along with special expanded sections in certain fields. In addition, the library has a children’s section equipped with a TV and VCR for viewing children’s educational programs.
It is a lending library open to the public as well as to the students of Bethlehem Bible College and the primary and secondary schools in the surrounding areas. In addition, the library is also equipped with internet facilities, and has a current capacity of 10 computers with a private server network. This is the only facility of its kind serving the Palestinian population in the West Bank.
